Or-Tal was tagged a writer by her first grade teacher.

She started her journalistic career at the age of 15. Finished a 3 year Journalism program at the Haifa University by the age of 18. Was the first Israeli high school graduate ever to demand and take a matriculation exam (Bagrut) in Communications & Journalism. She performed her regular military service as a military reporter and went on to writing for the largest, leading, newspapers in Israel. Her last position with a newspaper was the stock exchange reporter for the daily “Ma’ariv“, at the time the leading daily in Israel.

She then turned to online journalism by heading the planning and design of the first online financial newspaper in Israel – Analyst Online, which was later acquired by “The Marker“. Or-Tal was later a communications strategist. For more than a decade she worked with hi-tech companies on planning, establishing and maintaining their business communications strategies. This work required a unique combination of skills, experience, knowledge, creativity and, well, connectivity.

A short walk from consulting Or-Tal started an entrepreneurial career, planned and established 3 startup companies, 2 of them in the educational technology and games intersection. Being attracted to education innovation she started lecturing and giving workshops to teachers on how to use games, technology and innovative pedagogy such as PBL in their work, and stepped into the classroom as an EFL teacher for Junior High school students. Today she is also the director of innovation and technology with Irony Dalet High School in Tel-Aviv.

Born in France, raised in Israel, studied in the UK and Israel, Or-Tal brings along a unique knack for languages, the basis for all communications.

Or-Tal is a mother of three amazing, gifted, children. Parenting takes up a great deal of her time and dedication and goes well beyond the relationship between mother and child, and into the constantly changing education and entertainment systems surrounding the children, especially children with extraordinary abilities and requirements.

Over the years she is leading several initiatives regarding education and entrepreneurship like The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge  and The Edtech Israel group on Facebook. Or-Tal is also active in the Israeli high tech community and the local and global educators communities. She has established the “Israeli Techpreneurs Wherever” group on LinkedIn and grew the Tel-Aviv Hi-Tech entrepreneurs’ Meetup group to over 1,200 members in less than a year.
